Topic: Unteachable: Does That Describe You?
...Therefore, it says, “God is opposed to the proud and haughty, but [continually] gives [the gift of] grace to the humble [who turn away from self-righteousness].” James 4:6
2 Peter 1: 5 For this very reason, applying your diligence [to the divine promises, make every effort] in [exercising] your faith to, [b]develop moral excellence, and in moral excellence, knowledge (insight, understanding), 6 and in your knowledge, self-control, and in your self-control, steadfastness, and in your steadfastness, godliness, 7 and in your godliness, brotherly affection, and in your brotherly affection, [develop Christian] love [that is, learn to unselfishly seek the best for others and to do things for their benefit]. 8 For as these qualities are yours and are increasing [in you as you grow toward spiritual maturity], they will keep you from being useless and unproductive in regard to the true knowledge and greater understanding of our Lord Jesus Christ.

For this week's ThePorch Podcast here on Storm Talk 365 Radio, we are inviting you to visit with us for our weekly Inspirational Sunday Night Show. Tonight's show is a result of some wisdom I was offered: "Stay teachable." Now you might be saying that recommendation is simple enough. But I chose to be prudent and did some research. In addition I searched the scriptures and I found a quote. What you will be challenged to come to terms with i the same thing that I did. Not only do I need to know what teachable means but I also need to understand what unteachable means. Thus the title of tonight's Podcast.
Do you believe that learning is only for children? Do you believe that learning can only occur in a traditional classroom? Do you make an effort to learn something new everyday? If you are like most people probably not. You learn only enough to do what you have to do. You find yourself feeling stuck or stale. According to the quote above if you are not learning, you are not growing. Even more important found in the above scripture is that you need to have the quality of developing your knowledge and other aspects related to developing to remain useful and productive. During Tonight's episode on ThePorch, we want you to examine yourself to see if you have any unteachable qualities. And if you do, you will need to humble yourself in order that you can stop having them.
You will not hear about any of the qualities or characteristics of being teachable tonight. That will be shared in a later broadcast.
