Critic Reviews:
"The masterpiece of the first phase of James' career." (Merriam-Webster's Encyclopedia of Literature)
"The Portrait of a Lady is entirely successful in giving one the sense of having met somebody far too radiantly good for this world." (Rebecca West)

Fragile book
The content itself needs little review as most know that this is Henry James' masterpiece. My review is concerned with the edition which is part of the Penguin Clothbound Classics collection. These are beautiful books but unfortunately, the imprinted design is fragile and does peel off. Mine was shipped to me with little bits of the leaves already coming off which was disappointing as I collect this series.
Five Stars
Classic
Content is what you expect, but the physical book itself is not great
The physical book is enormous and the formatting is really poorly done. The content is, of course, great, but I found it really difficult to read because of the formatting and the dimensions of the book made it very awkward to read publicly.
Enjoyed a rather long story.
I enjoyed this story very much. The ending was a bit abrupt but in keeping with the story.
Great transaction
Exactly as advertised
