Rebecca Tierney previews the upcoming Poultry Meat Conferences taking place on Tuesday 29th September in the Hillgrove Hotel Monaghan, and on Wednesday 30th in Teagasc Moorepark, Cork.
There will be a number of speakers covering a variety of topics including:
- DAFM representatives will bring us the information surrounding the new Avian Influenza regulations in their presentation, ‘HPAI- Changing landscapes; Learning from the past to prepare us for the future’
- Salmonella Control and Salmonella Infantis are next on the agenda, with presentations from our own Declan Bolton, and Victoria Daunch from DAFM on their recent work on this area
- Tara Battersby from Agrihealth will wrap up this session with Practical Biosecurity Tips for the Control of Pathogen Transmission on Farm – an ideal time for a refresher on biosecurity as we enter the high risk period of AI
- After the networking break, we will have Brian Coffey from the EPA to bring us the latest surrounding the requirements for IPPC licensing in his presentation, ‘IED 2.0: What the New Industrial Emissions Rules Mean for Poultry’
- And finally, Aonghus Lane from St David’s Poultry Team will bring us some tips and advice on how to be better prepared for heat stress as we face hotter summers and more frequent heatwaves
We will also be joined by a number of companies and exhibitors on both days for a networking event, so come along early to meet, chat and get the latest information on the upcoming regulatory changes, biosecurity and management tips.
