Social distancing is practically impossible, health systems are ill equipped, malnutrition and poverty are often rampant, and vulnerable economies will falter. Political instability, xenophobia and social unrest present additional risks as the coronavirus spreads. Robert Guest, Foreign Editor of The Economist, joins Altamar from London to explain the challenges of Coronavirus to poorer countries – and the role that wealthier nations, international institutions and corporations must play to help the developing world regain their economic footing.
