THE POWER OF A GODLY MOTHER MOTHER’S DAY MAY 10,2015 LUKE 2:28-38,48,49 Being a Mother is a Holy Assignment and an Incredible Honor! Can interrupt your plans and preconceived ideas of what it will be like! Mary submitted her plans, dreams to the Lord .... Even when it was confusing and overwhelming to her. You are the carrier of life .... Never ending life .... Sacred and Divinely designed (Psalm 139) Mary knew her heart would break, but stayed true .... (Luke 2:35) Sometimes the Father gifts a mother with an assignment. (Can be a painful assignment! His Heart is a suffering heart!) (Seen Me, Seen Father; Jesus wept; loud crying .... Hebrews 5:7, 8) Mary watched Him suffer, but believed His promise to return and send the Spirit. Mary was alert to opportunities to encourage her child to use His gifts! (Wedding miracle .... John 2)

Mary believed in her Son, even when her other children and her community rejected Him (John 2:12; John 7:5) Can dislike their choices; can’t remove or neglect their value! Can remove self from enabling their brokenness, but not from your love and prayers and affirmation! Mary apparently became widowed early, but kept her faith and stayed the course. She evidently received assistance from others (sons, John). She trusted the Lord to be her Guide, Provider, and constant companion! Special Grace!!
