In presenting the prophecies about the Messiah, the prophet Isaiah describes Him in detail, His character and His ministry. As a perfect man, Jesus Christ is different from all other men. Through His earthly life He showed in what the perfection and power of men is expressed. The power of Jesus Christ in His person, in His life, and in His ministry takes an entirely unfamiliar form. In describing the Messiah, Isaiah dwells especially on His obedience to His Father, His meekness, His remarkable perseverance, and His God-centeredness. All of this has a very direct bearing on each one of us.
