COMMUNION BRINGS THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS INTO FOCUS
1 Corinthians 15:3-6 TPT
For I have shared with you what I have received and what is of utmost importance: The Messiah died for our sins, fulfilling the prophecies of the Scriptures. (4) He was buried in a tomb and was raised from the dead after three days, as foretold in the Scriptures. (5) Then he appeared to Peter the Rock and to the twelve apostles. (6)He also appeared to more than five hundred of his followers at the same time, most of whom are still alive as I write this, though a few have passed away.
COMMUNION CREATES A REAL COMMUNITY
Mark 14:22-26 TPT
As they were dining, Jesus took the bread and blessed it, and broke it, and gave it to his disciples. He said to them, “Receive this; it is my body.” (23) Then taking the cup of wine and giving thanks to the Father, he declared the new covenant with them. And as each one drank from the cup, (24)he said to them, “This is my blood, which seals the new covenant poured out for many. (25)I tell you the truth, I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine until the day comes when we drink it together in the kingdom feast of my Father.” (26)Then they sang a psalm and afterwards left for the Mount of Olives.
