None of us likes to be corrected. Well, wait, maybe that’s not true? Certainly some respond to it vehemently, even violently. Who would welcome correction? That’s what we’re talking about today.
Today’s Big Question:
How do you want to respond to correction?
Today’s Scripture: Proverbs 9:7-9
Whoever corrects a scoffer gets himself abuse,
and he who reproves a wicked man incurs injury.
Do not reprove a scoffer, or he will hate you;
reprove a wise man, and he will love you.
Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser;
teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning.
Other verses referenced in this episode:
How long, O simple ones, will you love being simple?
How long will scoffers delight in their scoffing
and fools hate knowledge? (Proverbs 1:22)
An intelligent heart acquires knowledge,
and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge. (Proverbs 18:15 )
If you want a place to see and answer the questions I ask in the episode and to keep track of the discoveries you make as we study Proverbs, we include a set of free journal pages for this devotional series in each of our Sunday emails
