The Power of Forgiveness
The power of forgiveness is real. It’s so real it may just do what it did way back in the bible days when Jesus walked the earth.
In Luke 5, there is a story of a paralyzed man being lowered from the roof top to Jesus so that he could be healed.
The first thing Jesus did was say to the man, “Young man, your sins are forgiven.”
This outraged the Pharisees and teachers of religious law because they had worked so hard at being good.
Why did Jesus say to the man who really just wanted to be healed, “Your sins are forgiven?”
Maybe he received judgments about his conditions. Maybe he felt it was a punishment from God.
What if the forgiveness carries a power to be healed?
Today, know your sins are forgiven. You are holy if you have put your faith in Jesus Christ because he declares you holy. Not because of your obedience, but because of Jesus’ obedience. When you understand how forgiven you really are you will find it much easier to love others.
