This week we will walk down the path of self-forgiveness and provide some tips to get you there.
Welcome back to your podcast where we take the journey to get to the place of non-negotiable peace. I’m your host Marlin Williams and I’m excited that you’ve decided to
We make a mistake and for some reason we are conditioned to punish ourselves over and over again. For some reason we just can't or won't let it go! There are people in your life who have treated you horribly, yet we give them the grace of forgiveness - but we won't do the same for ourselves. For me it was was my unwillingness to forgive myself and hold on to guilt and shame as if were some type of prize. It was actually a defense mechanism and way to NEVER forget what happened in an effort to keep it from happening again.
What's your why and how does it serve you? Take a listen...you may be surprised what comes up for you.
I share seven tips that can help you get to a place of forgiveness:
1. Own it and accept responsibility
2. Feel it - Don't lie to yourself
3. Learn from the mistake
4. Write yourself an apology
5. Be OK being OK (Life does not have to be hard - joy is allowed)
6. Stand in a place of gratitude
7. Seek professional help
You are important, you are worthy of forgiveness. This is a journey not a sprint – you will get there….if you want.
Until next time – let’s meet here again next week and we take this journey together.
