Kindness is our innate ability to be open-hearted, generous, gentle, assertive and loving towards others and ourselves. Yet, we might feel that the world around us is teaching us the opposite. We are constantly bombarded with the idea that trusting others is dangerous, so, who wants to be kind when you are probably going to be taken advantage of, right?
However, kindness is in our DNA. It runs through us, without it, we wouldn’t be able to live to our fullest potential. We are called both to offer kindness and to receive it. It is through acts of kindness that we connect at very deep levels, that we create community; that gratitude and appreciation are spread, that we can hold each other and… that we can heal from stress. Yep, it’s true. Kindness is the perfect antidote for releasing stress, and the most delicious, healing potion, because when you bring random acts of kindness to this world you are not only loaded with healing chemicals in your body such as serotonin and oxytocin, but you create a ripple effect that goes beyond what you can imagine, for the benefit of all!
