Today is reminding you of the power of ‘No’.
You can absolutely say ‘No’.
You can say ‘No’ even if the request is reasonable and asked from a place of integrity.
You can say ‘No’ because you don’t want to be busy, or even busier.
You can say ‘No’, for no other reason than you don’t feel like it.
You can say ‘No’ and just take the time to sit at home and do nothing.
You can say ‘No’ as a way of saying ‘Yes’ to yourself and your own passions.
It’s time to stop applauding people, especially women, who are super busy and running themselves into the ground, the people with so many things on their plate that they can barely keep their head above water, and instead congratulate the woman who prioritises rest and her own health, self-care and sanity.
When you say ‘No’ to others, you are saying ‘Yes’ to yourself, your energy, your relationships and your family.
Of course, someone might initially be upset that you’ve said ‘No’, but it’s much better that you’re honest and upfront rather than feeling resentful or saying ‘No’ at the very last-minute causing everyone involved additional stress.
In this very moment, just pause and take a breath, as you feel into the power of saying ‘No’.
Today’s SHEro Action:
Today’s SHEro action is to practice saying ‘No’.
Start by saying the word out loud, ‘No’, ‘No’, ‘No’.
Then look yourself in the mirror and repeat the word ‘No’
Get really comfortable hearing and saying the word ‘No’.
Then when it feels appropriate, when someone asks you to do something that you don’t want to, say ‘No’.
No guilt, no dramas, just say ‘No’.
Pause, and take a breath. As you give yourself permission to say ‘No’.
Today’s Affirmation:
“I lovingly say ‘No’ so that I can say ‘Yes’ to myself”
