Final Thoughts

If you are looking for a standard Irish whiskey, this is not the bottle for you.  If you want something that will challenge your pallet and your understanding of Irish, this is for you.  It is almost scotch like in its taste.  This is for those in the Irish countryside, not for the city folks.

The old thought on Irish Whiskey is that it is one noted, and if you have one you have had them all.  That is no longer the case.  Don’t sleep on Irish Whiskey.  It is growing and changing, and this bottle is an example of that.

• Created by James Power, who was an innkeeper that did a little distilling on the side until the popularity of his whiskey grew to be so much that it grew to be more than a side hustle. 
• distillery was established and built at John’s Lane in 1791. 
• By 1893, Powers came to Chicago for the world’s fair to show off their delicious whiskey, but they didn’t want to just bring Irish Whiskey to America, they had to really show off. 
  • They decided to build a huge tower out of their bottles that no one could possibly miss
• Back to Powers: 
  • They were the distillery to work for. 
  • They would have beach days, family days, and tons of time off for family and friends
  • They had their own soccer club
• Powers is also known for the creation of Airplane bottles. 
  • Dubbed “the baby power” 
  • It was designed for people to sample without having to buy a full bottle
• Powers was also the first distillery to bottle their own whiskey in house
  • It was said to have been done so that they could keep an eye on their whiskey from start to finish
