This sermon through the story of Hezekiah reminds us that God powerfully answers the prayers of his children.

Hezekiah first faces a powerful enemy that has gone to great lengths to deceive and rob God's people. In the midst of this crisis Hezekiah turns to hear from God. God responds advising him not to be afraid saying he will fight this enemy for him. Hezekiah responds with a faith filled prayer proclaiming truth about how glorious and mighty God is. As spoken, God powerfully subdues the enemy of his people.

Hezekiah then faces the challenge of being told his life will soon be ended. He again cries out to God albeit this time with less faith. God hears his cry and speaks saying he will extend his life. In doing so, yet again demonstrating his boundless grace, mercy, kindness, and power.

Lord, help us to be renewed in our confidence in praying to you, for you are the Lord almighty abounding in endless grace, mercy, kindness and power.
