Even though I've run an Ironman, hiked 42 miles in the Grand Canyon, and climbed to 18,000 feet in the Himalayas, choosing to own a dog once terrified me.

I used to be scared of dogs (big ones, at least) and never intended to be a dog owner. Something shifted in me about 7 years ago and Fitz Roy came into my life.
