In this episode, Ariel talks about how women can be more empowered when they’re buying a car including tips on how to decide what features you might need, how to make a fully informed decision as well as how to get the best price.

Sadly, sexism is still rampant in a lot of dealerships and a lot of times the dealer will speak to and negotiate with the man there with you rather than the woman, and you can use this to your advantage. You can do good cop bad cop scenario where you’re the good cop and your companion can be the bad cop, pointing out the negative points of the sale. If you have experience buying cars and you don’t feel you need someone else there that’s fine too, but you do need to have good boundaries.
  • If you don’t have a good credit score you’re going to want to bring that up before you buy a car because they’re going to charge you interest rates based on your car FICO score, which is not the same thing as your regular FICO score.
