The Greek philosopher Plato said, “Show me the stories you show your children and I’ll give you your culture.” Stories are foundational oral or written traditions that are responsible for creating identities. We discuss the importance of stories in civilizations, how lack of stories are responsible for failures in educational institutions for Muslims and how stories are responsible for creating an identity crisis for those living in the diaspora.
