In this episode, I share a story from time as a teacher in the school system. The ruling was made to bring all student boides back in person with masks. You can imagine the different melees between COVID restrictions, teachers buying shields and students seeing their friends again. It all started when I received an email about a student requesting to be addressed by a pronoun and a different name from the one on the roster. Soon, the issue of pronouns in schools would be an issue for many teachers nationwide. I was stuck between my feelings and the feelings of my students. There were talks of discomfort and bullying by others that was being brought to my attention. I decided to attack the issue head on even if meant my job being at jeopardy. I was shock at the results.
