The Powwow Trail Welcomes Scott Kalama

 Scott Kalama is a Award Winning Hip Hop Artist from Warm Springs, Oregon! He starting doing music as a mentor for native youth back in 2014, for the program Beats Lyrics Leaders with Chaz Mortimer and Kevin Winkle. Volunteered for two years with the program learning the music industry. They soon traveled to Orbit Audio in Seattle, Washington for a music workshop. This is when they created the hit song “Rez Life” (produced by Yamio 263) with the help of Tony Ozier (Doo Doo Funk All Stars) and engineer Rick Clifford (2pac all eyes on me). After the song was complete we decided to do a music video in Warm Springs Reservation and surrounding native communities in Oregon. They soon completed the Blue Flamez Rez Life ep and submitted to the 2016 Native American Music Awards. Which we brought home our first Nammy for Best Music Video and Beam Me Up was nominated for Best Hip Hop Album. Fast forward to 2018 Scott “Blue Flamez” Kalama has entered the sophomore album “Rez Star” to the 2018 Native American Music Awards for Best Music Video a protest song “to the sky” LaRonn Katchia brought to life my vision in a post apocalyptic music video with the help of Isaac Trimble. Scott Kalama is currently working on more music and prevention education workshops!
