Since Jesus' death and resurrection, the church has edited, misinterpreted and distorted Jesus’ original teachings on love and compassion. It is clear from the New Testament, that Jesus had only two commandments: 1) that we should love the Lord thy God with all our heart, and with all our soul, and all our mind; and 2) that we should love our neighbor as ourselves. And, yet, much of the Gospels have been interpreted to mean just the opposite.
