The Practice

This evening Glen continues on with the series “The Practice”, the importance of studying and learning from God’s Word daily.

Tonight we look at the ‘PRACTICE’ of relationships and family. I’ve put together 10 points which are a collection of many things. Being married for one, being a dad for almost 40 years, leading a church for over 20 years and being involved in some kind of ministry for over 40 years. These Principles apply across the board!

Tonight Dave continues on our theme by exploring the practice of Sabbath. Tonight we explored how this day embedded in creation is something which leads to rest, is an opportunity to worship and a moment to celebrate our freedom.

Tonight Alain explores the spiritual practice called The Examen. This is a way to help us recognise that our lives are already infused by the presence of God and often we don’t recognise it. We often have the experience of God but we miss the MEANING. This tool helps to shape our dialogue with God and helps us to develop an open posture to His transforming presence. The five Examen steps are: Re-centre, Review, Rejoice, Repent & Resolve.

What is your Jerusalem? Do you have a cause worth dying for? A dream worth fighting for? Chris looks at the story of Nehemiah and his call from a position of comfort, stepping into a place of faith and risk to see his city restored. When God places a burden on our hearts to see the Kingdom come, He will also give us the vision, skill and resources to see our heaven-sent dreams come to life.

Tonight, Dave continues our PM series by looking at the practice of Lecto Divina (meditative reading). While we recognise and encourage the need to study and explore the big picture of scripture, we tonight introduce the practice of Lecto Divina, leaving space for the Spirit to speak as we daily engage with scripture, so that we can experience the life and application for our lives through the Bible.

This evening Alain Emerson continues on with the Series ‘The Practice’ looking at Centred Prayer. This practice helps us to receive the presence of God in our daily lives, develops us in deeper levels of communion with our Heavenly Father and transforms us into the likeness of Christ in the process.

Alain introduces our new Sunday PM series by exploring the need for Spiritual formation practices, which are key to build into our lives, as we aim to grow in Christ-likeness.
