praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—19 and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. Here are the Rules to the “Prayer of Faith.”
1. YOU MUST KNOW THE WILL OF GOD
Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we
ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.
But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
“Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” The believing comes before the having. You don’t pray and then hope or beg—you pray, believe you’ve got it, and thank God as if it’s already yours. Faith sees the answer in the spirit realm before it appears in the natural.
And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” 29 So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!” 31 And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”
True faith acts like it already has the answer. after believing you receive,
thank God continually and act accordingly.
Let us hold fast the profession of
our faith without wavering; for he
is faithful that promised
4. THIS PRAYER IS FOR YOU
Therefore I say to
you, whatever things
you ask when
you pray, believe that
you receive them, and
you will have them. Do you see the focus? It is on you.
