Nehemiah heard the heartbreaking news: Jerusalem’s walls were broken, the people in shame.

He sat down and wept, then prayed: “O Lord God of heaven… let your ear be attentive… and grant me success today as I go before the king” (Nehemiah 1:5-11, paraphrased from context).

God opened the king’s heart. Nehemiah received favor, supplies, and permission.

The walls were rebuilt in 52 days despite opposition.
