Where do dead believers go? Was there a different dwelling place of the dead in Old Testament times, and is paradise the same as heaven? Do our should fall asleep in the grave until Christ comes...and what about purgatory?

Pastor Joel will discuss several different theories about what happens when a person dies, and will talk about several important Biblical insights that shed light on this subject. It is eschatological because it pertains to the afterlife. Where do we go, and when?

In this episode, we'll discuss how interpretive methodologies impact theological conclusions. Do the words of scripture mean what they say, or are they symbols for a spiritual meaning? We'll explore this idea by discussing the Millennium and the Rapture. I'll provide a hermeneutical rationale for premillennialism, and for the pre-tribulation rapture.

In today's podcast, we'll begin a talk about Biblical interpretation. The literal method and the allegorical method both have huge supporters. I'll make the point that the interpretive method that we choose has a greater impact on our view of the end times that the prophetic scriptures themselves. Our lenses matter!

Join the podcast as I explain the differences between the allegorical method and the literal method, and begin to discuss how each one impacts our eschatological views.

Season five is going to be all about alternative points of view.  We'll spend time talking about the why behind the what...learning why Christians believe in different eschatological points of view. This is going to be an engaging season with lots of scripture, but also a great help in answering some questions about the different positions and how a person would arrive at that point of view.

In this episode we'll talk about six undisputed Biblical facts about the end times. These are Biblical truths aha virtually all Christians believe, regardless of their point of view on the rapture, the tribulation, the millennium, or the second coming.

In this episode we'll explore the final chapter of Paul's second letter to the Thessalonians.  Paul takes the opportunity after telling them about the rapture, the rise of the antichrist, and things to come to bid them farewell with a few encouragements and exhortations.

In today's study through 2 Thessalonians chapter two, we'll clear up confusion about the rapture, the rise of the Antichrist, and the coming of the Lord at the end of the Tribulation.

The Thessalonians believers were anxious, because false rumors had circulated that the day of the Lord had already come.  Paul assures them that the Day of the Lord wouldn't come until after the restrainer had been removed, the antichrist rises, the Abomination of desolation, and then...the Lord would return.

As we begin looking at the second Thessalonians letter, we'll see that Paul has a number of great commendations for the church, as well as a few corrections.  The Thessalonians believers had misunderstood Paul's teaching about the return of the Lord and supposed that it would come in their own day.  As a result of that, some of the believers had grown idle waiting for the Lord to come...any day now.  Paul wrote to get them going again, and to correct their misunderstandings about the Lord's return.
