Numbers is the account of two generations: a generation that perishes in the wilderness through their disbelief, and the next generation who are on the verge of entering the promised land, with the advantage of having seen firsthand the disastrous results of unbelief and disobedience. At the end of the book we’re left asking: will this new generation repeat the same mistakes and disobedience as their parents or will they faithfully obey God?
