Disdain: the feeling that someone or something is unworthy of one's consideration or respect.
Foretell: predict the future or a future event.
Divine: something of, from, or like God; or a god.
Dismayed: caused someone to feel consternation and distress.
Grappled: engaged in a close fight or struggle without weapons; wrestle.
Inert: lacking the ability or strength to move.
Anguish: severe mental or physical pain or suffering.
Hubris: excessive pride or self-confidence.
