Meh
This book was an entertaining read that occassionally made me smile. The heroine is feisty without being a b#$%*^, and the hero is the typical billionare Italian prince. Holly is likeable because is just too nice to hate, but she stayed with the hero even when she should have shoved her boots heels in his soft tissues and made a break for a life without the perpetual downer (aka Casper).
Casper is a hypersexual Italian male with a libido to rival the entire UK rugby team.
SPOILER: At the beginning of the book, during the first stages of his rather easy seduction of Holly, he asks her if she is using protection. Now, one would assume that since she doesn't have external genitalia, that he is referring to protection from pregnancy. Later on in the book we discover that Casper BELIEVES he is infertile - sterile - shooting blanks...so WHY does he ask Holly is she is using protection?! That's like handing a blind man a blind fold.
Now that I have raised this question, I will summarize my opinion of this book:
It is a quick, fun read, but don't be surprised that when someone asks you if you liked it, all you can do is shrug and say, "Meh".
good book
The story kept me wondering how the story would end. Hollyâs character drew me right in. she was a young and innocent waitress. Her heart was broken by her ex fiancé. She had a meltdown while she was at work, and thatâs how she met Prince Casper. He shielded her from on lookers while she composed herself. One thing lead to another. Holly was mortified to find out she became pregnant her very first time. Casper married her making her a princess. I do have to say she made the perfect princess by visiting and talking to people. The people loved her.
Casper had been hurt in another relationship. He thought he could never love again. Some of the mean and cruel things he said to Holly made me want to slap him. He was cold, but his action on the other hand showed he did care about Holly and her health. The chemistry and passion between the couple was always hot and steamy. Holly did love Casper. Her love was patient. She taught Casper what real love was. By the end of the book they did get their fairy tale. I was a little disappointed that the book did have an epilogue. It would have been nice to read about their life after the baby came.
Very disappointing ending
I thought the first 90% of this book was so good and showed such true human emotions in Holly. For once no one was lying to someone or not communicating. So, you'd think the the perfect Harlequin, right? Well that was clearly before reading the last 10% of the book.
Very dissatisfying ending. Not near enough of an apology (practically none and extremely little remorse) for the way Casper thought and said such horrible things to Holly. I was not left with a "Happy feel good" feeling at all.
This book had such potential.
there's a lot of room for improvement
the h was very weak as portrayed and the H was so overbearing and arrogant that it totally kills the story.
