When this submission came our way, we honestly had NO idea what to expect. But when we followed up with the woman who submitted the story (who has chosen to remain anonymous), we knew we had to have her on. Not just because it's an important story to get out into the world. But also, frankly, because it's... well... STRANGE. The idea that this man, our guest's father, could be a sweet and loving and devoted father for our guest's ENTIRE life... and then just... completely change in almost every way... WITHOUT EXPLANATION... it's just totally crazy and wild AND... we think you will agree!

The Private Record — Episode 37 — When You Witness a Man Burn Alive

This one is short and sweet... actually... hmm... not exactly 'sweet', per se. More like the opposite of 'sweet', in fact! Because, as the title suggests, this episode features a story about a boy named Philip (now an adult— but at the time he was only 12 years old) who randomly and entirely unexpectedly happened to witness a grown man BURN HIMSELF TO DEATH... ON PURPOSE.

The Private Record — Episode 34 — When a Child Beats You Up

Title kinda says it all this time, no? Bu here are some specifics for you: our guest Danielle is a teacher. A couple years ago, one particular student in her classroom was a bit of a... well... PROBLEM. And one day, that student took it upon herself to beat up another student. Danielle, being a good teacher (and a good person in general) wasn't having that. So instead of letting the student take a beating, Danielle put herself between the two students, physical punishment be damned!

This one is just plain old crazy. And an all-time favorite of Matt's. Here's hoping you enjoy it as much as he does!

The Private Record — Episode 033 — When Your Friend Steals Your Wife's Nudes

After last week's VERY heavy episode, we decided to do a 180 this week and bring you a story that is very... well... NOT heavy.

Adrian and his wife's best friend's husband had become pretty good friends, thanks to the closeness of their spouses. But when his purported 'friend' offers to 'fix' his wife's phone and takes a liiiiiittle too long doing so, Adrian gets slightly suspicious. And it doesn't take him very long to find out his suspicion is warranted— EXTREMELY warranted, in fact. Because it turns out his wife's best friend's husband wasn't JUST fixing his wife's phone... he was also stealing VERY explicit, VERY graphic, and VERY private nude photos and videos from said phone.

One would THINK the story ends there. Buuuuuuut it's actually just getting started. You will not believe where it ends up!

Hey guys. Listen up. There’s no way around this, so we might as well come out and say it upfront— this one is brutal, and at times just plain hard to listen to. That being said— we not only believe our guest Dylan’s tragic tale is an IMPORTANT story to share, it also ultimately has a happy ending! The Private Record — Episode 30 — When You Escape a Cult (Part Two!)

Several weeks ago we dropped what is by now (by far) our most beloved episode (EP06), featuring Ben, a brave young man who escaped a strange and little-known Christian 'cult' (his words, not ours!) that goes by the name of 'Gospel Outreach'. Needless to say, the episode dropped on Gospel Outreach like a bomb, instantly turning Ben into their Public Enemy Number One. Since then, the leaders of GO have tried to silence him, defame him, harm his business, and outright intimidate him. But Ben ain't stoppin! In fact, he's SO not-stoppin' that he agreed to come back on the show and do it all over again... this time, with an even bigger chip on his shoulder, and even more brain-popping details about Gospel Outreach.
