God's laws were given to protect and to provide. Human freedom does just the opposite. One person's freedom can lead to another person becoming a victim. Human history has proved this to be true. We are free to ignore this reality if we so choose. However, God's laws are given to lead us to HIS reality.

God's laws prod us and poke us to reveal our need. The laws of God's righteousness can be a way to get us to our knees. We will be moved to realize that we need help. "The law was put in charge to lead us to Christ that we might be justified by faith" (Galatians 3:24). Now we can put away our fig leaves and put our trust in Christ. The privilege of freedom is a God-given reality for all who are now in Christ. Amen.
