Beyond Productivity: The True Role of Safe Spaces in Coworking and Community.
A safe space is a theme that has come up repeatedly in the hundreds of episodes of Coworking Values Podcast.
You'd think it would free beer and fuse ball tables.
People say they need a safe space.
Some of that is about productivity because being able to relax, concentrate, and find focus means you get more done.
However, the deeper side of coworking spaces, which we often delve into, is about more than just productivity.
It's about creating an environment where people feel accepted, emotionally safe, and a sense of belonging.
It maintains a community where individuals want to be and where they feel accepted and valued.
Think about inclusion, being invited in, being around many different people, and understanding their perspectives.
It's an essential thing.
🇬🇧Right now, there is a s*** storm in the UK, and one of the most important roles any coworking or neighbourhood space can play is helping people connect and understand each other.
There's so much supporting evidence that when people in local areas are connected, communities are strong, connections are solid, everybody feels safe, and the world is better.
