Recently a young schoolboy was asked to stand to up in front of his peers and list his 'white privileges'. Meanwhile, some in the Ministry of Education consider education itself to be a form of 'symbolic violence' and are instructing its teachers to ask themselves what their own privileges are. In this episode I'll address these topics – particularly on how the concept of privilege itself contradictory and indeed, a tool used to mask one's own prejudices.
