Nothing quite sets up a film like the opening shot. The locations of your favourite TV shows and movies set the scene and invite the viewer into a whole new world. But making sure all of this comes together is one hell of a job.

Sophie Becher is a production designer - meaning she is head of a production’s art department and responsible for the overall visual aesthetic. Sophie shares stories of what it takes to bring a director’s artistic vision to life, and what she’s learnt working across war films, action thrillers and one particularly iconic TV advert.
