Promises for a New Year

Therefore Jesus said again, “Very truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep. 8 All who have come before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep have not listened to them. 9 I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full”. John 10:7-10

Jesus promises life to the full

“Life to the full” is the result of being properly connected to Jesus

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you,

you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:5

THIS CONNECTION TO JESUS IS EXPERIENCED BY…

-Believing and Receiving

“Yet to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name,

He gave the right to become children of God.” John 1:12

-Trusting and obeying

“He calls His own sheep by name and leads them out. 4 When He has brought out all His own, He goes on ahead of them, and His sheep follow Him because they know His voice.”

John 10:3-4

35 Going a little farther, Jesus fell to the ground and prayed that if possible the hour might pass from Him. 36 “Abba, Father,” He said, “everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.” Mark 14:35-26

-Loving and serving

“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God… We love because he first loved us." 1John 4:7, 19 NKJV
