The case exposes a deeper hostility toward the family that has since gone global. Educational elites like James Bryant Conant insist that parents themselves are obstacles to democracy because they want the best for their own children. Church bureaucrats have even asked whether the Biblical family is “obsolete,” calling for updates in sexual ethics and family structure. But Scripture is unequivocal: “Honor thy father and thy mother … that thy days may be prolonged” (Deut. 5:16). God builds nations on strong households and warns that those who undermine the family undermine their own future. A society attacking both its homes and its heritage is committing slow suicide. The question remains: will we choose God’s promise of life, or follow modern folly into death?
