Simeon was a man who waited his whole life to see the promise of God fulfilled in a savior who would finally bring lasting joy—his waiting was rewarded as he gazed into the face of baby Jesus.

We often pursue happiness as though it’s a lasting experience. But the reality is that happiness is all about circumstances, and circumstances change. Joy is a choice. It’s the choice to remember that the best things really are still coming, even in the longest of waits.
