We know from D&C 121:34-36 that the thing that keeps us from being "chosen" is that our "hearts are set so much upon the things of this world." What we don't often realize is that the reason we don't get the higher blessings we have been counseled to seek is precisely this: we have become, without realizing it, card-carrying members of the great and abominable church.
