The Purpose of Rain

Listen Later

THE PURPOSE OF RAIN🌧️🌧️🌧️
Rain is primarily for fruitfulness.
Genesis 2:5, Matthew 5:45; Acts 14:17; James 5:7.
The purpose of “early rain” is to germinate seeds and prepare the ground for planting. It typically occurs in the fall season, allowing crops to begin growing before the harsher winter months arrive.
The germination of the seed is by the early rains, the maturation period, and finally, the ripening period brought on by the last rains of the season, called “the latter rain.”
Deuteronomy 11:14; James 5:7.
DIFFERENT KINDS OF RAIN

RAIN OF CLEANSING: To remove pollutants and bring lasting change. God through His Word rains over our minds to cleanse, renew and bring lasting change. Genesis 7:4;

John 15:3; Romans 12:1; Ephesians 5:26; James 1:21.
RAIN OF MANNA:
For provision before the full manifestation of the promise. God will ensure you have your daily provision even when going through a wilderness experience. Rain of manna should not be confused with the rain of abundance. Exodus 16:4; Deuteronomy 11:9-11.
RAIN OF HAIL:
This is designed to execute divine judgment.
To ensure justice is enforced where God’s covenant people are concerned and honour is brought to God. Exodus 9:18
RAIN OF MERCY:
To cancel the deserved judgment so that undeserved favor can be received.
Hebrews 4:16, Ephesians 2:4, Matthew 15:21.
RAIN OF WISDOM & POWER:
2 major components of God’s rain for this season are power and wisdom. Power is the ability to deliver results while wisdom is the capacity for results.
1 Corinthians 1:22-24.
