The Purpose of the Great Horror of Darkness.

Scripture Text: Genesis 15:12-16

Key Notes:

There are times when God makes us sleep deep in order to bring out greatness in us. Adam experienced this before Eve came out of him. Abram also experienced same before something extraordinary and supernatural could be secured for four generations after Him.

There are some darkness that we cannot pray away, avert or prevent; in this case we can only grow stamina to go through it via prayers. Psalms 23:4

The purpose of the horrible great darkness that Abram experienced was not only for his generations to come out of slavery with great substance but, also to give time for the cup of the Amorites to be full to attract God's judgment. The judgment of the Amorites meant the possession of the promised land by the Israelites as promised by God to their father, Abraham.

As believers, our deep sleep experiences comes as terrible challenges. If not received with the right perspective, horrible great darkness will extinguish your light. Learn obedience through your suffering and see greatness emerge through you.
