Servants of the local church must be trustworthy believers. Paul instructs Timothy in the qualifications for deacons and deaconesses who serve the needs of the congregation. Those who serve well may not gain a high position in the world or a prestigious title, but more importantly, they gain good standing in the faith, and confidence they are functioning in the purpose for which God designed them.
