Matthew 5:1-5

Jesus' first recorded sermon was the Sermon on the Mount. He preached to a large crowd that included his disciples.

This sermon was first intended to bring encouragement to God's people and define for them the spiritual qualities found in a true citizen of the Kingdom of God. The sermon begins with the first three beatitudes that will focus on the three qualities of God’s kingdom citizens.
