Ed Madden is a poet, activist, and Director of Women's and Gender Studies at the University of South Carolina in the USA. He grew up in Newport, Arkansas, got his B.A. from nearby Harding University, and received his Ph.D. in literature from the University of Texas, Austin. He is the author of four poetry collections, most recently Ark (Sibling Rivalry Press, 2016).
