The Queue With Que

Second trump assassination attempt happened while Donald Trump was playing golf. JD Vance admits to Dana Bash on CNN that he lies about stories in an attempt to get the media to pay attention to other stories. And Quentin R. Jiles attended the first ever Black Excellence Brunch on the South Lawn of the White House.

Project 2025 is a manifesto of Republican conservatives ideas to tear down society as we know it. It is not lost on me that as people of color start to rise those that have enjoyed power are starting to attack. I think we are beyond resistance! We are at a start of offense! We need a generation of people that will run for office to protect and defend the least of us. Or we might find that all of us are doomed.

The new video showing Diddy physically abuse Cassie is horrendous! And the apology he issued directly after the release of the video gives us much to discuss. And has us wondering if Diddy will ever serve jail time for his alleged crimes.

Being civically engaged means actively participating in the processes that shape your community and society. Here are some ways to do that:

1. **Voting:** Exercise your right to vote in local, state, and national elections. Research candidates and issues to make informed decisions.

2. **Community Involvement:** Get involved in community organizations, volunteer groups, or local initiatives that address issues you care about.

3. **Advocacy:** Speak out on issues that matter to you by contacting elected officials, attending town hall meetings, or participating in public demonstrations.

4. **Education:** Stay informed about current events, public policies, and social issues. Attend workshops, seminars, or lectures to deepen your understanding.

5. **Support Causes:** Support causes and organizations that align with your values through donations, fundraising, or volunteering your time and skills.

6. **Joining Boards or Committees:** Consider joining advisory boards, neighborhood associations, or committees that make decisions impacting your community.

7. **Civic Dialogue:** Engage in constructive dialogue with others, even those with differing opinions, to exchange ideas and find common ground.

8. **Promote Civic Education:** Encourage others, including friends and family, to become more civically engaged and informed.

By actively participating in these activities, you can contribute to the betterment of your community and society as a whole.

We need truth about the entire situation. I am hopeful that this commission will get to the bottom of it. 

HB 3979 which prohibits discussions and instruction on specific concepts related to race, sex, diversity and discrimination in Texas curriculum, unfortunately has passed the Senate with no amendments and is headed to the Governor's desk. We must continue to advocate against this racist bill.
