A Star’s Journey: From Billboard Charts to Hollywood Sets
Adrienne Lau’s rise in the entertainment worldhas been nothing short of remarkable. With an academic background in communications and sociology, combined with acting training at UCLA, she had both the skills and passion to carve out a unique path. “I’ve always had dreams of becoming an actress and entertainer from a young age,” she reflects.
Straight out of university, she was signed to a record label and began working with some of the industry’s most respected names, including producers linked to Beyoncé and Britney Spears. In a surprising twist, she even collaborated with boxing legend Mike Tyson for one of her music videos — a moment she describes as “unbelievable.”
Her efforts paid off when she made history as the first Chinese female singer to break into the top 10 on the U.S. Billboard charts — a proud and defining achievement. “It felt like a dream come true,” she says, beaming.
Transitioning into acting and producing, Adrienne’s journey took her to new heights. Co-producing The Card Counter alongside Martin Scorsese and acting opposite icons like Nicole Kidman and Colin Farrell marked a transformative chapter. “Throughout all these years, I’ve poured my heart into every project,” Adrienne reflects. “I hope to inspire others with my journey — to break barriers and pave the way for more opportunities for women and Asians in the industry.”
