The Real Issue Podcast: Part 1: Why The Church of Jesus Christ (of Latter Day Saints) is NOT a Christian Church
Is Jesus the eternal God in human flesh, second Person of the Trinity? Or is he a created being like you and I and ascended into "Godhood?" Was Jesus born born by virgin birth or was he brought forth through process of procreation between a resurrected God and Mary? Did the atonement for our sins occur at the cross, or did the process begin in the Garden of Gethsemane? Is Jesus the eternal God or did he ascend to be a god? If you are speaking to an Evangelical Christian or a member of the Church of Jesus Christ (of Latter Day Saints (Mormons)), you are bound to get different answers on each of these questions.
This being the alleged bicentennial year for the group which began around the 1830's, the Latter Day Saints are going to be campaigning their image to the public through television and social medial. As Christians we need to be able to respond should missionaries come knocking at your door sharing their false message.
There are only two religions that have been brought about by angelic proclamation (Islam and the Mormon Church). Rob unpacks these questions, tapping into his file and taking the time to respond to an Instant Message from a Mormon elder.
