Artists gain their inspiration from all kinds of sources, but when it comes to character development and fictional people, most writers have at least a jumping off point from their real lives that they use to create their characters.   When these characters are compelling and popular, the audience will often start wondering where the inspiration came for these larger than life characters.  With a little digging and sometimes the artists themselves coming clean about their inspirations, sometimes we learn that the real inspirations can be just as entertaining as their fictional counterparts.
