It is unfortunate that the presidential candidates chose the low road of demonization and character assassination of their opponent because in so doing BOTH SIDES have fueled fear, hatred and aggression that will last long after the election is over. Had both sides chosen to focus on facts rather than twisting facts in their efforts to win by whatever means necessary, we would have had a much greater chance to move past this election with a unified country eager to compromise for the greatest good of all concerned. Instead, we are very likely to have severe gridlock.
