When does resilience stop helping us and start keeping us stuck?
In this episode of The Reality Lab Podcast, we’re talking about the pressure to push through, stay loyal, keep going, and prove that we can handle whatever comes our way.
We get into the difference between something being hard because we’re growing and something being hard because it’s unhealthy, why walking away can sometimes require more strength than staying, and how resilience can become part of our identity in ways that make it harder to let go.
Because being capable of enduring something doesn’t mean you should endure it forever.
Sometimes resilience means staying.
Sometimes it means leaving.

What pressure are you creating without realizing it?
In this episode of The Reality Lab Podcast, we’re talking about how burnout can come from beyond the person experiencing it, and it can quietly shape the culture around them.
We get into late-night emails, constant availability, leadership habits, and the expectations people can feel even when nobody has explicitly asked them to work the same way.
Our Reality Check: Burnout doesn’t happen in isolation.

Who told you that you had to do all of that?
In this episode of The Reality Lab, we’re continuing our "Unnecessary" series by talking about the expectations, pressure, and imaginary standards we sometimes place on ourselves without anyone ever actually asking us to.
We get into why we replay conversations that already ended, prepare arguments that may never happen, worry about what people might think, and hold ourselves to standards we would never expect from someone else.
Because sometimes the pressure is real.
And sometimes we created it.
We also talk about the difference between accountability and self-punishment, and why feeling worse about a mistake doesn’t automatically make us more responsible.
Our Reality Check: Not every expectation deserves to come with you!

Why do we make things harder than they need to be?
Some things in life are genuinely difficult. Others are difficult because we’ve added more steps, more urgency, more meetings, more expectations, and more pressure than the situation actually requires.
In this episode of The Reality Lab, we’re talking about unnecessary complexity, especially the way we confuse “hard” with “important.”
We get into:
Why complicated can feel more professional.
Why broken systems often get rewarded instead of fixed.
Why the most resilient person in the room sometimes ends up carrying the consequences of everyone else’s poor planning.
And why we can overcomplicate our own decisions long after we already know what we want.
Because hard work can matter.
But struggle itself is not proof that something is valuable.
Sometimes simplifying something is not cutting corners.
Sometimes it’s fixing the problem.

Can something be completely true and still be unnecessary to say?
In this episode of The Reality Lab, we’re talking about the line between honesty and cruelty, why “I’m just being honest” can become a shield for accountability following bad delivery, and whether every thought really deserves to be said out loud.
We also get into why we feel the need to respond, explain ourselves, correct the record, and match someone else’s energy, even when silence might actually be the stronger choice.
Because honesty matters.... But so do timing, tone, context, and intention.
Before you send the text, write the comment, answer the email, or give the unsolicited opinion, maybe the better question is:
"What is this actually going to accomplish?"
Welcome to The Reality Lab! Where we ask honest questions, explore different perspectives, and get curious about the things we usually accept without thinking twice.

For this episode, we’re talking about the plans we outgrow, the pressure that comes with being “the capable one,” and the strange way success can keep moving just when we think we’ve reached it.
2026 has already changed a few things for us. Some goals still fit. Some don’t. Some ideas we were sure about feel completely different now.
So instead of pretending we have it all figured out, we’re asking better questions:
When is changing your mind actually growth?
When does “I can handle it” become a trap?
And how do you know if the version of success you’re chasing is even yours?
This is a conversation about changing direction, carrying too much, redefining what matters, and giving yourself permission to question the rules you thought you had to follow.
