The Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost. As a result of our repentance and faith in Jesus, we are now “children of Abraham” (Galatians 3:7-8).
From the stories of Blind Bartimaeus and Zacchaeus, the Gospel writers illustrates to us the reasons Jesus came:
1) Jesus hears the cry of every heart (Luke 19:5-7, Psalm 10:17, Matthew 11:28-30)
2) Jesus comes to befriend the lonely (Luke 19:5-7, Psalm 68:6, John 15:15)
3) Jesus comes to save the lost (Luke 19:10, John 3:16, 14:6)
4) Jesus comes to restore our lives (Luke 19:9, 2 Corinthians 5:17, John 3:17)
