Once when I was in the 8th grade, there was a kid in our room who had a severe hearing problem. To compensate for it, he wore hearing aides in both ears. These devices were cumbersome by today's standards. They were very large and had big volume controls on them whereby he could adjust the sound up or down. Several of my friends and I decided to play a trick on him. We pretended to be talking, moving our lips, but not making any sound. He moved his head forward trying to hear what we were saying and began turning the volume all of the way up on his hearing aides. At this point, we all yelled as loud as we could and squealed with laughter as he covered his ears and tried to turn the volume back down . . . http://www.wordsfortheday.com/index.php/2017/11/the-record-2/
