Greetings, Reds and Blues fans! We’ve got weekend results, mid-week matches, and the upcoming, first-ever, Red and Blue Soccer Chat derby. Let’s get into it!

Chelsea head into their Wednesday fixture away to Brentford riding a slightly mixed bag of emotions. Positive results currently outweigh the performances of a still-adapting-to-their-manager side, but the news of Reece James being sidelined until well after the World Cup – coupled with the already injured N’Golo Kante – presents them with some selection headaches. A fifth win on the trot, especially by multiple goals, would continue to keep their spirits high with United heading to the Bridge on Saturday. But they dare not look past 9th-place Brentford, a team that continues to defy expectations.

United also has a tough opponent prior to making the long trip down to London at the weekend, with 3rd-place Tottenham paying a visit on the back of their tough win over Everton. United had plenty of chances against Newcastle, especially what appeared to be a golden opportunity at the end for Marcus Rashford. They’ll need to find a more ruthless mindset in front of goal in order to get themselves past 2 London sides in succession.

But Brentford and Tottenham are the appetizers before this Saturday’s main course. It’s taken almost a year for everything to fall into place, but the show finally gets its just desserts with what could prove to be a defining moment for clubs and hosts alike: Chelsea hosting United.
